The river’s waters originate and flow through three major Ecuadorian national parks: Sumaco, Cayambe-Coca, and Antisana.
The region is renowned for its rich biodiversity and incredible birdlife!
The Quijos River is famous among kayakers and whitewater lovers, having hosted the World Rafting Championships in 2005.
Starting at 1,700 meters above sea level on the Cosanga River, this section offers breathtaking scenery, continuous rapids, and fun for the whole family (ages 12 and up).

If the water flow does not allow the activity to be carried out on the Quijos River, an alternative route can be used on the Cosanga River in order to keep the activity safe.

  • Guide – A professional guide will accompany you on the river for the rafting activity

  • Swimsuit and Water Shoes – Make sure to wear a swimsuit or clothes you don’t mind getting wet.

Gear – If needed, water shoes or additional wetsuits can be rented on site (some sizes may not be available).
